L.A.S.E.R.S. MANIFESTO:

To every man, woman & child we want an end to the glamorization of negativity in the media│ We want an end to status symbols dictating our worth as individuals│ We want a meaningful and universal education system│ We want substance in the place of popularity│ We will not compromise who we are to be accepted by the crowd│ We want the invisible walls that separate by wealth, race & class to be torn down│ We want to think our own thoughts│ We will be responsible for our environment│ We want clarity & truth from our elected officials or they should move aside│ We want love not lies│ We want an end to all wars foreign & domestic violence│ We want an end to the processed culture of exploitation, over-consumption & waste│ We want knowledge, understanding & peace│ We will not lose because we are not losers, we are lasers!│ Lasers are the opposite of losers│ Lasers are shining beams of light that burn through the darkness of ignorance│ Lasers shed light on injustice and inequality│ Losers stand by and let things happen│ Lasers act and shape their own destinies│ Lasers find meaning and direction in the mysteries all around them│Lasers stand for love and compassion│ Lasers stand for peace│Lasers stand for progression│Lasers are REvolutionary │Lasers are the future

im 16 and havent even left australia, but ive been all up and down the east coast and i have never met a person who has thought the same way. just the other day, my mother and i had a long convo about how a poor aboriginal is just as important as the prime minister, they can both change the nation, but because of society and social standards only one has the power to do so. finally a man who isnt just involved in the world and its problems, a man who has the balls to stand up and sing about it, and going off lady gaga and eminem, is the most influential way to reach people these days.

If you agreed with this you should look up Ron Paul and check out his views, they have an enormous amount in common! Vote RON PAUL2012!

    • doctor

bull. Ron Paul would kill public education, when the solution to universal and meaningful education is to get rid of “for profit” education in this country. Just to give an example.

      • Ben

What motive is better than profit? Teachers have zero inspiration to put in any more effort than they already are, because they get paid poorly, and constantly asked to do more and more for other people’s children and still get paid the same.

    • Blake

Ron Paul is probably the least crazy of the republicans, but he’s racist. He has been quoted with statements like “I think we can assume that 95 percent of the black men in that city [Washington] are semi-criminal or entirely criminal.”

    • Ben

Jay I agreed with the manifesto, and I agree with you. Ron Paul’s view on education is to promote home-schooling, which, ultimately, is directed at the point that parents should be the major influence in their children’s lives, not a government influenced system. Also, the racist comments that he gets so much heat about is taken out of context time and time again. His comments are almost always in the form of a response to a question that is constructed to draw out certain statements that can be used out of context against him. He is against the war on drugs, because the war on drugs is such a huge contributor to our national debt. We spend so much money on keeping drugs out of the country, but we will NEVER be able to keep them out, and we will only send more and more MINORITIES into our prison systems that we’re forced to pay for. Should drug’s be illegal? Maybe. If they weren’t would you do them? If the answer is yes, then why? Why is it your or my responsibility to care for someone who chooses to harm their own body? Why can’t parents be expected to do a better job of educating their own children? Ron Paul is not racist, and our current education system teaches to the test, and every other proposed idea about education only makes that more the focus. I may not be able to educate my child at home, and my wife may not be able to either, but it is a financial requirement to be able to afford private schooling where I will have a personal relationship with every one of my children’s teachers, and the principal of the school. Ron Paul haters, don’t let mainstream media be your source of information, and don’t settle for one side of the argument. EVER. We have forfeited too much of our spiritual, intellectual, and physical freedom to the government. Take the time to explore the philosophies of freedom, and I feel confident that you will realize that true freedom leaves no room for anything other than equality, greater ambition, greater innovation, and greater self-appreciation.

      • Zack

Because we are good people who care for others. Not some selfish and heartless person who only cares for his own well being.

The government isnt telling us how to live, they are just trying to help us live better.

Also if questions a posed to make him say a certian answer he sould think for a minute nad come up with a better one.

  • Liz Marie

Because of mainstream rap, I overlooked all rap artists, including Lupe Fiasco. Once I opened my eyes, I was able to fully understand his message and it is extremely inspiring. I’m proud that they’re artists who aren’t concerned about materialistic items, degrading women, other nationalities. Lupe gives me hope in music.
