Recently, it was announced that [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Dave Hollister[/lastfm] is recording a new R&B project. Hollister’s last two offerings were gospel: Book of David, Volume 1: The Transition in 2006 and Witness Protection in 2008. As one of the original members of Blackstreet, Hollister is known not only for his singing but for his songwriting and production.
Hollister stated that “while I was in the industry, God kept me from getting into a lot of things other guys I was around fell into. People tried to put drugs on me, but I didn’t take them. I’ve escaped death. I can’t go back into that life.”
Is he returning to that life? Does it bother you that R&B artists make gospel music? I would love to hear your thoughts.
