Auto-Tune isn’t as old as we thought! Hit next to read the history of Auto-Tune.

It all began in the mid ’90s when Exxon engineer Andy Hildebrand accidentally developed a way to correct pitch.   Can you believe that! Someone invented the effect who doesn’t even work in the music industry. After the invention of Auto-tune, Antares Audio Technologies further developed the technology and created the first Auto-Tune processor for music in 1997.

The first superstar to take advantage of the new technology was [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Cher[/lastfm]. In 1998, Cher released Believe, which featured the Auto-Tune.
