Def Jam recording artist Ne-Yo called into the Maddhouse to promote his new album “R.E.D.” which is coming out early November. He talked about receiving a songwriters award at he the “Songwriters Hall of Fame” awards. Alicia Keys and John Legend also received the songwriters award. When asked what makes a hit record Ne-Yo response was “no one knows what actually is a hit”. He got a chance to sit down with Bary Gordy and he told Ne-Yo a story about how he use to have meetings with seven people to pick hit records. Bary use to ask would you buy the song or buy a sandwich. He’s taking all of the knowledge from people that’s been in the business and putting it to use.
