Red Hook Summer hit select theaters in August of 2012.

Co-written and directed by Spike Lee, the summer flick has just been released on Blue Ray and DVD in time for holiday gift giving.

The film tells the story of a middle-class boy from Atlanta that finds his world turned upside down when he spends the summer with his deeply religious grandfather in the housing projects of Red Hook, Brooklyn.

Red Hook Summer is a part of Lee’s “Da Chronicles Of Brooklyn” series that includes She’s Gotta Have It, Do The Right Thing, Crooklyn, Clockers, and He Got Game.
