Raheem Devaughn’s new video love connection..
DeVaughn was born in Newark, New Jersey. He is the son of jazz cellist Abdul Wadud. His mother, now a retired federal worker, says Raheem showed an interest in music at a very early age. Any time there was a musical event at school, he would conduct them. He was influenced by artists such as Babyface and Prince.
Raheem almost instantly became a music lover and began skipping school just to go to the recording studio. After all the hard work, and long hours put in in the studio and at his first job “Tower Records”, where he put stickers on CD’s, Raheem Devaughn kept working toward his goal of becoming an R&B star and eventually inked a sweet record deal with Jive Records in 2002.
Check out his new lyric video below and remember, he will be coming to For Sisters Only at the Charlotte Convention Center Saturday, April 20th!!
